Product overview

Attendance that explains itself.

Attendance comes from the working day itself: first and last activity, or clock-in and clock-out. Shifts show late and early minutes to the person and their manager, and nothing is scored.

How it works

No badge readers. Nothing extra to install.

  1. Step 01

    Choose the source

Attendance comes from first and last activity on the person’s computer, or from clock-in and clock-out where people clock.

  2. Step 02

    Add schedules

Working windows for each weekday, split shifts and grace minutes, for a person, a team or everyone by default.

  3. Step 03

    Read the day

Attendance, presence and adherence, shown to the person and their manager. Nothing is scored and nobody is alerted.

Attendance days

A day from first to last activity.

For each person and date, the day runs from the first activity to the last. Where a person clocks in and out, the clock events are used instead.

From activity
First and last activity on the computers mapped to the person that day. Nothing to install beyond the agent.
From clocking
People clock in and out from My Work in the dashboard. When they clock, the clock events win.
For the person too
Every employee sees their own attendance under My data, and can download it.

Presence

Which devices are online now.

The agent sends a heartbeat every minute, so the presence board shows which devices are online now and whether each is active or idle.

Process names only
A heartbeat carries the name of the application in front, never a window title.
Outside working hours
The device can still appear online and report the logged-on account. The heartbeat omits the application and active or idle state outside the hours you set.
For admins and managers
Managers see their own teams. Opening the board is written to the audit log.

Shifts and adherence

Shifts, shown and never scored.

Each night ClearHours compares the expected window with the day’s first and last presence, and records late and early minutes beyond the grace.

Schedules
A time zone, working windows for each weekday (several for split shifts) and grace minutes for arriving and leaving.
Assignments
A person’s own schedule wins over their team’s, which wins over the default.
Shown, not scored
No adherence percentage per person, no threshold, no notification and no report that ranks people.

Shared computers

Totals are per device. We say so.

Attendance and activity are counted per device. Shared computers and multi-user remote desktops are not split by person.

  • Not split on shared machines

If two people use one computer, the day’s total is the computer’s.

  • Not split on remote desktops

Several sessions on one host count towards that host, not towards each person.

  • What to do instead

Say so in your notice, or give each person their own device.

Into timesheets

Attendance beside the hours logged.

Each timesheet day shows the person’s attendance next to the time they logged and the active time observed. Payroll files carry approved, logged time.

Privacy note

Attendance and adherence are about named people. Managers see their own teams, each look is written to the audit log, and nothing triggers an alert. Before you use schedules, describe them in your employee notice.
