Why ClearHours exists.
Indian SMBs and IT-services firms bill, pay and plan by the hour. The tools they have make that harder than it should be.

Hours are guessed
Timesheets are often filled in from memory at the end of the week. Billable hours become estimates, and approving them becomes a formality.

Three tools, three bills
A monitoring tool, a timesheet tool and a project tool each charge per seat, each has its own login, and the three rarely agree on the hours.

The law has caught up
Most of the DPDP Act 2023 and its Rules take effect on 13 May 2027. The duties sit with the employer: security safeguards, breach notice, limits on retention and answers to grievances.
So ClearHours puts observed time, timesheets and projects in one product, at one seat price, built so that people are told first and see their own data.

People are told first
The agent is visible: a tray icon, a first-run notice and an entry in installed programs. There is no stealth or silent mode.

No surveillance features
No screenshots, keystroke logging, clipboard, camera, microphone or location. No setting switches them on.

No scores about people
No productivity scores, rankings, alerts about a person or automated decisions. People make the decisions.

Everyone sees their own data
Every employee sees what is recorded about them, can download it, ask for erasure and raise a grievance.

Data in India, never sold
Customer data is stored in Microsoft Azure Central India (Pune). It is never sold, shared across customers or used to train models.
